Counselor, Mark Newlon

About Me

I am native to the Kansas City area, and continue to enjoy living here, where I call home.  Not just the people and quality of values here, but the familiarity of the surroundings, the frequented places and pathways of living provide the comfort and peace which I value the most.

Education

I pursued a self-designed major in art, literature, and film at William Jewell College for most of my undergraduate degree, then experienced a deep need for reconnecting with a more fundamental aspect of myself, leaving it behind. Completing a liberal arts degree at the University of Missouri-Kansas City then some years later, I completed my master's degree at Avila University in counseling psychology most recently.

What Matters

Connections are what matter to me, with what are true and honest people, and true and unfiltered experiences, where you know what you are experiencing means something to you, and the experiences and people in those moments are adding to your life.

Peace and well-being are what matter to me as well, however those can be experienced, not just as a refuge, but as a way of operating in the world, as an example to be lived, for a model of living life.
